Angela Niederloh

Angela Niederloh, mezzo soprano, makes her MOR debut with Schoenfield's Ghetto Songs. The Portland, OR, native currently serves as a faculty member at Portland State University and Pacific University, and gives music clinic workshops for choirs and individuals. A recent participant in the Houston Grand Opera Studio, she was last seen at Portland Opera as Angelina in La Cenerentola and Melibea in Il viaggio a Rheims. Her other operatic engagements have included Dorabella in Cosi fan tutte (San Francisco Opera Center), The Mother in Amahl and the Night Visitors (Opera Omaha), Annio in La Clemenza di Tito, and Mrs. Slender in Salieri's Falstaff (Wolf Trap Opera). On the concert stage, her solo credits include performances with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, San Francisco Opera Orchestra, Camarata Pacifica, Oregon Symphony, Boston Baroque Orchestra, New York Festival of Song, Aspen Festival Orchestra, Portland Baroque Orchestra, and Columbia Symphony. A National Finalist in the 2000 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, she is also a winner of the Eleanor Lieber Award, among others.
