Jake Heggie has been a cherished collaborator of Music of Remembrance for over a decade. If you've followed MOR, you probably know the four astonishing works he and librettist Gene Scheer have created for us: For a Look or a Touch, Another Sunrise, Farewell, Auschwitz, Intonations: Songs from the Violins of Hope, Before It All Goes Dark and the full-length opera Out of Darkness. His choral arrangement of that opera's stirring finale, Farewell, Auschwitz, received its world premiere on January 27, 2020 at our concert commemorating the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz.
