Jake Heggie has been a cherished collaborator of Music of Remembrance for over a decade. If you've followed MOR, you probably know the four astonishing works taht he and librettist Gene Scheer have created for us: For a Look or a Touch, Another Sunrise, Farewell, Auschwitz, and the full-length opera Out of Darkness. His new choral arrangement of that opera's stirring finale, Farewell, Auschwitz, will receive its world premiere on January 27, 2020 at our concert commemorating the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. At our May 2020 concerts in Seattle and San Francisco, Jake and Gene will be with us when we present their new Intonations: Songs from the Violins of Hope, and For a Look or a Touch.
