2012 Emperor of Atlantis Gala Dinner

2012 Emperor of Atlantis Gala Dinner

Nov 18, 2012 - 12:00 pm

Mark November 18 on your calendar now!

Just before our fall concert, our 15th Season's Gala Celebration begins with wine and hors d'oeuvres in the Norcliffe Founders Room at Benaroya Hall, at 5:00 p.m.

Then at 6:00 p.m., it's on to the concert, featuring Viktor Ullmann’s opera The Emperor of Atlantis, composed in the Terezín concentration camp in 1943. Camp authorities halted its final rehearsals once they saw its provocative allusions to Hitler and his war machine. MOR’s bold new production is conducted by the Seattle Symphony’s Ludovic Morlot and directed by Erich Parce, with a stellar vocal cast and a chamber ensemble of Seattle Symphony players.

After the concert, join us in the intimacy of the Norcliffe Founders Room once again to toast--and mingle with--our honored guests Music Director Ludovic Morlot, stage director Erich Parce, and baritone Victor Benedetti, whilesavoring a gourmet dinner.

This is one evening that you won't want to miss. To guarantee your place (seating is limited) at our Gala, buy your tickets ($250 per guest) now, and remember to mark November 18 on your calendar.
